All the hard work through the summer and fall are beginning to pay off!!...All those miles we ran...All the push-ups...All the time spent managing our weaknesses and sharpening our strengths are beginning to show the fruit of our labor! This is Day THREE at "The Reason for Pre-Season"..."Where we Show & Prove and Prepare Not to Loose"...7:23 AM EST. Work-out for today...(1) Stretch, (2)100 Push-ups, (3) 50 sit-ups, (4) Run 2 Miles (5)Study game tapes from last year, make list of 3 personal game weaknesses that will need to be improved [Be as honest with yourself as possible] Students can get the jump on early semester writing assignments...Do not wait until the night before the assignments are due to finish them!! Remember, in academics & athletics... Failure to Prepare is Preparation for Failure!!
Question of the Day is-"When is the best time to talk to your teammate about a team conflict?" My suggestion is to find a semi-private moment aside from the team group. If this "quiet" conversation is not productive, approach a mature upperclassman on the team to mediate the situation. If all of this fails, you can then approach an assistant coach [The Cool One] with the dialog and then ultimately the head coach. If it's a small thing, try to work it out with your teammate...if it's larger than that...you'll have to walk it up the athletic food chain for a positive resolution. Teammates are like family, you don't get to choose who they are and you are "Stuck" with them [good or bad] for a long time!! So be a good teammate!! :o)
